Rules and Code of Conduct Before reading the Rules of this Challenge, we kindly advise you to check our General User Terms &amp; Conditions and Privacy Policy of the TAIKAI Platform. <h3>Hackathon Rules</h3>1. Team Composition<ul><li>Teams can have 1 to 5 members.</li><li>You can register solo and find a team via the TAIKAI platform or on-site coordination.</li><li>At least one team member must be present in Prospera (Roatán) to qualify for local-only bounties.</li></ul> 2. Project Requirements<ul><li>All code must be written during the hackathon (June 15–21).</li><li>Open-source submissions only – hosted publicly on GitHub.</li><li>A clear Project Description is required, with:<ul><li>Description of the problem solved</li><li>Setup instructions</li><li>Network State relevance</li><li>Live demo link (if applicable)</li> </ul></li></ul>3. Chain &amp; Tools<ul><li>You can build on any chain, but we encourage use of Base, Optimism, or Solana.</li><li>Integrating relevant governance protocols, identity primitives, or public goods infra is encouraged.</li></ul> 4. Intellectual Property<ul><li>All submissions remain the intellectual property of the creators.</li><li>By participating, you agree to allow organizers to showcase your project (with credit) in recap materials, social posts, and potential follow-up programs.</li></ul> 5. Judging Criteria<ul><li>Relevance to Network States and decentralized cities</li><li>Originality of idea</li><li>Technical Execution and quality of code</li><li>UX/UI and usability</li><li>Real-world potential or long-term vision</li></ul> <h3>Code of Conduct</h3>This hackathon is a space for builders, not bad actors. We uphold the following standards for all participants, mentors, judges, and partners: 1. Be Respectful<ul><li>Treat others with kindness. No harassment, discrimination, or exclusion of any kind will be tolerated.</li></ul> 2. Be Collaborative<ul><li>Share ideas freely, help each other, and embrace feedback.</li><li>Plagiarism or copying another team’s work will result in disqualification.</li></ul> 3. Be Transparent<ul><li>Use open-source tools and give credit where due.</li><li>Clearly disclose any use of pre-existing codebases or boilerplates.</li></ul> 4. Be Intentional<ul><li>Build projects that reflect the values of decentralization, transparency, and empowerment.</li><li>No scammy tokens, ponzinomics, or malicious smart contracts.</li></ul> 5. Report Issues<ul><li>Any violations can be reported privately to organizers via Discord or email.</li><li>Violators may be removed from the event and banned from future participation.</li></ul>

<h2>❓ Frequently Asked Questions</h2> <h3>Who can participate?</h3>Anyone! Developers, designers, founders, policy thinkers, and creatives from anywhere in the world are welcome. The event is hybrid — remote participation is fully supported. However at least one person from each team must be on the ground in <a href="https://www.infinita.city/crypto-cities/landing" target="_blank">Infinita City</a> to pitch. <h3>Is it free to join?</h3>Yes. Participation in the Crypto Cities Hackathon is 100% free. <h3>Do I need to be in Infinita City to participate?</h3>No. You can participate remotely from anywhere. However, to qualify for the Próspera Local Award, at least one member of your team must be physically present in <a href="https://www.infinita.city/crypto-cities/landing" target="_blank">on the ground</a> during the hackathon. <h3>Can I join solo or do I need a team?</h3>Both options are valid. You can register individually and either build solo or find teammates via the TAIKAI platform or <a href="https://www.infinita.city/telegram" target="_blank">telegram group</a>, in the <a href="https://t.me/c/2448623293/9850/9851" target="_blank">hackathon topic</a>. <h3>What can I build?</h3>Anything that aligns with the theme: building tools and infrastructure for Network States. This includes governance dApps, identity layers, local economies, and public goods tooling — or anything experimental that could realistically be adopted by a crypto-native city. <h3>Can I use pre-existing code?</h3>You can use open-source libraries or frameworks, but the core of your project should be built during the hackathon period (June 15–21). <h3>Which blockchains or tools can I use?</h3>You’re free to build on any EVM-compatible chain, but we recommend using Base, Optimism, or Solana based on our sponsor integrations. <h3>How do I submit my project?</h3>You’ll submit via the TAIKAI platform by June 21 (23:59 Pacific Time). Submissions must include a live demo, a GitHub repo, and a project description. <h3>Who will judge the projects?</h3>The judges are comprised by one representative of each involved entity (Infinita City, Próspera, Odisea and TAIKAI). <h3>Are there prizes?</h3>Yes — $20,000 in total prizes across multiple categories including Governance, Identity, Local Economies, Public Goods, Wildcard, and special awards for local presence and community voting. Please check the prizes section for more info. <h3>What is I₵C and how is it used in the hackathon?</h3>I₵C (Infinita City Credit) is the digital currency used for payments within Infinita City, covering everything from event tickets and housing to services and amenities.It’s pegged 1:1 to the US dollar (1 I₵C = 1 USD) and is part of Infinita’s broader vision to build a crypto-native, innovation-driven city.The hackathon prize pool includes rewards in I₵C, especially for participants building locally in the Próspera Zone.
