I'm currently enrolled at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL).
Not only am I studying Engineering Physics with the intent of pursuing a career linked to quantum computing, but I have also already set my heart on following up with the "Master Programme in Physics" specializing in "Statistical and Condensed Matter Physics".
This will allow me to diversify and deepen my knowledge in a wider range of fields, while offering a solid base for my main interests.
Regarding other skills, I have learned to code in a rich collection of programming languages and tools, mainly but not limited to: Python 3, html/CSS/javascript(+react.js), SQL(SQLite), C#, FreeCAD, Godot(Game Engine), git and bash.
I have dabbled with the discord API (discord.py), web scraping and geolocation(geopy) to name a few interesting uses of the aforementioned tools. The discord API, for example, was used to create a bot capable of responding to requests from users, via the chat. It managed to start up and shutdown a number of multiplayer game servers hosted locally in addition to checking their status and a few other miscellaneous commands.
All in all, I think it is safe to say that I am comfortable reading documentation, experimenting with new concepts and tinkering with computers.
Physics and technology have always been a big interest of mine. However, I also enjoy practicing some sports such as skiing and scuba diving. Regarding the latter, I have considered going beyond my current certifications to become a Professional Diver, which is a possibility in the far future.
Moreover, I have taken on a couple of personal projects. While I am not dedicating my full attention to these at the moment, I am intent on following through eventually.
Firstly, I set out to design and develop my own video game. Gaming is an important aspect of my life and the idea of creating a game has been in the back of my mind since a young age. Some friends have joined me on this task but university has been our main focus.
Secondly, in an attempt to correct a few aspects of college education that have caused me distress, I endeavored to create a Web App inspired by "Codecademy" and "Khan Academy", adapting the Free and open-source software (FOSS) mindset to online, interactive classes. Although not completed, I have already learned a lot about web development and education from this project.
Finally, a friend of mine proposed a small group of us build a drone, roughly from scratch. This project is in its initial stages at the moment.
