Arūnas Girdziušas is the Founder and CEO of CYBORA, an AI-native cybersecurity company based in Vilnius, Lithuania, with a U.S. entity, CYBORA LLC, registered in Delaware. His work centres on one question boards actually need answered: what would a cyber incident cost the organisation, in euros, this year?

At CYBORA, Arūnas builds AI-driven systems for quantifying cyber risk. They use Monte Carlo simulation, FAIR/ALE modelling and exposure analysis that accounts for jurisdiction under NIS2, DORA and GDPR. Instead of the usual red-amber-green heatmap, the output is a loss distribution a CFO can budget against. CYBORA also provides virtual CTO and CISO services, business continuity and disaster recovery stress testing, board-level dashboards that show the state of controls, and fraud detection systems. Its clients include financial services firms, critical infrastructure operators and multi-entity groups working across Lithuania, the UK, the US and Japan.

He brings more than 20 years of hands-on technology experience to this work. Arūnas started as a LAN administrator in 2002 and became head of the IT division at Teltonika. He then spent seven years at Western Union building enterprise messaging infrastructure, including a large migration from Lotus Notes to Exchange. At Danske Bank he moved from collaboration lead to Chief IT Platform Engineer. From there his career turned firmly to security. He served as Information Security Officer at Blackthorn Group, as a cyber security specialist at Baltic Amadeus, and as CISO and Data Protection Officer at fintech companies EXZi and DaFinLabs. For fifteen years he also led information security at Network Gate, where he developed the Network Gate Website Firewall.

Arūnas sits on the board of Dream Finance UAB and has been a member of the management board of the non-profit Ikandu since 2022. He is an experienced educator. He has taught programming at the Baltic Education Technology Institute and lectured at Mano Klasė, and he speaks to boards and conference audiences about where AI really changes the economics of defence and where it is only noise.

He holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology with a focus on Cybersecurity and an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, both from the University of the People. He also holds a Professional Bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming. He works in Lithuanian, English and Russian.

Outside cybersecurity, Arūnas is CEO of EnGarde Games, a tabletop RPG publisher operating in Lithuania and the UK, where he designs games and runs them as a game master. He writes regularly on his Substack.
