I'm a Senior Software Engineer and Research Scientist at Priberam's R&D department (www.priberam.com), where I am working with high-performance Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications, including search engines and information retrieval, question answering and fact-checking, entity recognition and entity linking, and sentiment analysis.

I also have prior research experience in HPC bioinformatic applications, targeting DNA sequence processing, from my period at INESC-ID; and as a consultant, having worked in the banking & insurance sectors at IBM.

I hold an MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon), with a focus on algorithms, computer architectures & networks, and decision systems. Finished in 2014 (grade: 18/20 and 19/20 in my Master's Thesis).

I'm passionate about algorithms, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, and Bioinformatics research fields. I also like to build (ro)bots. I consider myself a passionate problem solver and I like to be involved in multidisciplinary projects.
