Brought to you the ICP EU Alliance, the applications for Build on ICP are open to developers and teams who are: 

  • Willing to build projects on the IC Protocol
  • Looking to continue building their project beyond the duration of the hackathon
  • Willing to give a shot at winning $20,000 worth of prizes and bounties 
  • Opportunity to win unique ICP grants up to $100,000

🏆Hackathon prizes and bounties

⭐ All the new coders, who complete an ICP Devs certificate during the hackathon will be awarded USDT100 each. Additionally, all participating teams that submit an ICP project (Pitch Video with GitHub repository) will receive $100. Please note that projects and coders must not have previously won a prize at the ICP hackathon.

More prizes will be awarded to the top 6 teams: 

AI Track:

  • 1st place gets $2,500 in stablecoins, support for winning ICP grants up to $100,000; a PR campaign ; opportunities to present to VCs and investors; ; free tickets to an AI conference in Lisbon on 9-10th November, and flights covered for two team members from anywhere in Europe to attend the AI conference.  
  • 2nd place gets $1,500 in stablecoins; support for winning ICP grants up to $100,00 ; opportunities to present to investors; and free tickets for the team to attend the AI conference in Lisbon on 9-10th November.
  • 3rd place gets $500 in stablecoins; opportunities to present to investors; and free tickets to attend the AI conference in Lisbon on 9-10th November.

Generic Track:

  • 1st place gets $2,000 in stablecoins; a PR campaign; support for winning ICP grants up to $25,000, opportunities to present to investors; and free tickets to attend the AI conference in Lisbon on 9-10th November.
  • 2nd place gets $1,000 in stablecoins; support for winning ICP grants up to $25,000 opportunities to present to investors; and free tickets to attend the AI conference in Lisbon on 9-10th November:
  • 3rd place gets $500 in stablecoins; opportunities to present to investors; and free tickets to attend the AI conference in Lisbon on 9-10th November.

Prizes and rewards will be announced on the 7th of October and winners will be awarded within 2 weeks of the announcement. (KYC will be mandatory to claim the payment.)

⏳Timeline

Build on ICP – is an online hackathon taking place from the 30th of September to the 7th of October 2024. 

  1. Application phase: 16th September – 13th October 2024
  2. Online hacking phase: 7th October – 13th October 2024
  3. Code Submission Deadline: 13th October 23:59 (Lisbon Time)
  4. Winner Announcements: 15th October 2024

✅ Eligibility criteria to take part in Build on ICP 

  1. Teams must not have received a grant or hackathon prizes, from the DFINITY Foundation for the project they wish to submit.

  2. Ideally, the project should be unique to ICP, with no similar existing solutions. (Refer to existing projects on Internet Computer Ecosystem)

  3. Participants must be proficient in English

  4. Teams must contain at least 1 founder above the age of 18.

  • Creativity: How original is the idea? 
  • Thoughtfulness: How thorough was the project developed?
  • Uniqueness: Ideally, the project idea should be unique to ICP, with no similar existing solutions. (Refer to existing projects on Internet Computer Ecosystem)
  • Code sophistication: How clean and efficient is the structure and how advanced is the algorithm?
