
Kyaw Zaya Htun is working as a Director at Remote Sensing and GIS Research Center, Yangon Technological University, Yangon, Myanmar. He received a Master in Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand in 2006 and Ph.D in field of Remote Sensing & GIS from Mandalay Technological University, Myanmar. He worked as GIS specialist and serve as a consultant for technical support for both local organizations (Mandalay City Development Committee, Department of Archaeology, Department of Relief and Resettlement, etc.) and international organization (ADPC, UN Habitat and UNICEF) for 10 years. In this role, he worked on many different projects covering all aspects of GIS. His primary focus was creating and maintaining spatial database for spatial data, hazard and risk assessment mapping for disaster prone area and also providing capacity building of on-job training and developing curriculum for trainer of trainer.
