From avoiding rebar and PT cables, to defining locations for coring and anchor placement, working with reinforcement and realistic job site environments can pose high-risk challenges for contractors. Beyond the roles that traditional concrete scanners have played in the field, untapped potential exists in merging  applied visual sciences with HILTI's scanning portfolio. Carlin Gerstenberger and Clairerin George represent Project FerroVision, with the aim of modernizing HILTI's detection value proposition through the use of mixed reality technology.
