Voluntarium offers occasional activities, in other words, nonrecurring, that bring benefits to organizations and assisted people by the Institutions. A platform that contributes to the senior well-being with a Team Building volunteering service.
The portal lists social actions in an intuitive and attractive way, and improves the propagation of the occasional volunteering activities ideas and gets more volunteers to assure the recreational and occupational activities with the institutionalized senior citizens.

There's a gap between the institutionalized senior citizens and the people's desires in volunteering in actions to contribute for the senior’s well-being.
The institutionalized senior citizens suffer from loneliness and isolation from community life and with the sedentary lifestyle within the organizations. In their turn, these are overloaded with the daily routine and as a result we have a lack of time to give close attention to the users, in the affective and cognitive scope. All these factors result in the worsening cognitive impairment of the institutionalized senior citizens.
The organizations need specific skilled volunteers’ in the recreative and occupational scope and they lack labor and support. These skilled volunteers bring to the seniors more cognitive motivation, and they also help in the organization’s routine, as they let the institutional employees freer to do their work. These specific actions are very important and they don’t take much time from the volunteers.
Some IPPS (Private Social Solidarity Institution) search for permanent volunteers, but they demand a degree and a frequency commitment, between 6 months and 1 year or even more. These vacancies are not well advertised and when they are, they don't have the basic information, such as the prerequisites, the specific training, the volunteering deadline and the compulsory insurance. A lot of people don't volunteer when they face all these demands, restrictions and the lack of clarity. And this ends up harming the institutionalized seniors and so as the volunteering activity candidates don't feel apt to help.
The lack of awareness of occasional volunteer opportunity and the little time available to a candidate to apply to a frequent and regular voluntary position, many candidates, who would like to contribute to the neediest, like the senior citizens, are lost. Furthermore, the low impact disclosure brings little involvement and makes the application less attractive.
The companies have Team Building projects turned to social responsibility, but they're executed with low impact actions in society. The human resources departments struggle finding occasional volunteering actions to insert the company's Team Building, this occurs because they don't know any platform that can show them multiple occasional volunteering opportunities in their region. The collaborators end up not feeling involved by the offered opportunities and discourage themselves from participating in future actions.
Elaborate pin-point activities that solve the organizations and the users’ problem is our biggest challenge. Therefore, we will offer actions that will have more support from the volunteers that don't want a commitment with the third sector from the beginning.
The platform will spread the occasional volunteering actions that go beyond from the traditional existing activities in the organizations, for example, an afternoon with music, movie sessions, crochet workshop. The goal is to insert within the organization routine a light and relaxing moment among the seniors. The actions will be personalized according to each organizations' time availability, duration of activities, numbers of volunteers and participants and possible prerequisites for volunteering.
Many occasional activities bring positive responses to the users. This also results as a help for the organizations, because it brings a break from the exhaustive routine of the caregivers and take the seniors to an emotional refuge and cognitive stimulus. The search for volunteering in specifics activities is bigger than the search for permanent actions, therefore, the organizations have more possibilities to receive help from volunteers and then have more support and budget to invest in the organization.
Through the platform, the collaborator can apply to volunteer actions with just a few steps, in a clear way and free from bureaucracy. The Voluntarium will manage all the other details together with the companies and organizations, therefore the collaborator will focus exclusively in choosing what action and what organization the volunteers will have more affinity to dedicate their time and attention.
The activities will be indexed by the Voluntarium team or anyone else in the platform. The graphic arts will be elaborate by the Voluntarium design team with the responsibility to make it attractive and intuitive. With marketing techniques, such as choosing texts and images with greater impact, more possibilities of engagements are opened and waken empathy and solidarity for the activities by the candidates. Beyond that, it will be possible to register feedbacks and share the activities on social media.
Voluntarium will seek personalized solutions to every partner through the platform. Team Building action plans with a high social impact will be available jointly within the companies’ designated departments connected with the companies' social responsibility culture.
The volunteering actions as a company's social responsibility program allow the employees to feel they belong to the company's cause and to be satisfied in participating actively and concretely in society, volunteering is, above all, a form of promoting community social integration and personal well-being.
Voluntarium have as objective for the first year of activity:
Through the partnership with Voluntarium platform, companies will be able to access consultancies for planning and training their Team Building, according to the profile and the number of collaborators; and the best occasional voluntary actions according to the companies' social responsibility causes.
The platform will also facilitate the activities choice for the collaborator, and for the company as well. The company, in turn, will be able to follow the Team Building program through reports made available by the Voluntarium team.
